How to Use the Angle Unit Conversion Calculator

Pick the unit the value is currently in — Degrees, Radians, Gradians, or Turns — enter it, and the other three update together.

1 turn = 360° = 2π radians = 400 gradians

Degrees split a circle into 360 pieces for no deeper reason than ancient Babylonian base-60 counting; radians measure by arc length instead (a full circle is 2π radians because that's the circle's circumference divided by its radius); gradians split a right angle into a clean 100 units, a metric-era attempt at decimalizing angles that mostly survives today in surveying instruments. A turn — one full rotation — is the unit that makes converting between the other three the most intuitive, since every one of them is just some fraction of it.
