Enter a pay rate and frequency — hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly, or annually — to calculate your annualized income.
How to Use the Annual Income Calculator
Pick a pay frequency from the dropdown first — it decides which of the other fields actually matter. Hourly reveals an Hours per Week field, Daily reveals Days per Week, and Weeks per Year stays visible throughout since every conversion but semimonthly, monthly, and annual relies on it.
Turning any pay rate into a yearly figure comes down to how many times that rate repeats across a year:
Hourly: Annual = Rate × Hours/Week × Weeks/Year
Daily: Annual = Rate × Days/Week × Weeks/Year
Weekly: Annual = Rate × Weeks/Year
Biweekly: Annual = Rate × (Weeks/Year ÷ 2)
Semimonthly: Annual = Rate × 24
Monthly: Annual = Rate × 12
Annually: Annual = Rate
Semimonthly and biweekly get confused constantly, and the math shows exactly why they're not the same thing — semimonthly is always 24 pay periods (twice a month, every month), while biweekly is tied to the actual number of weeks in the year and lands at 26 periods for a standard 52-week year. Drop Weeks per Year to 50 to account for two unpaid weeks off, and every hourly, daily, weekly, and biweekly result shifts with it — semimonthly and monthly don't move, since neither depends on the weeks-per-year figure at all.
Monthly Equivalent is just the annual figure divided by 12, useful for budgeting against monthly rent or a mortgage payment regardless of how the paycheck itself is structured. Weekly Equivalent divides by whatever Weeks per Year is currently set to, which is worth double-checking even on a non-hourly, non-daily rate.
