How to Use the Biweekly Pay Calculator

Switch between Hourly and Annual Salary with the toggle at the top — Hourly asks for a rate and hours per week, Salary asks only for the yearly figure.

Biweekly pay isn't simply a monthly number split in half — a monthly paycheck happens 12 times a year, a biweekly one happens 26 times, and those two counts almost never line up cleanly.

Hourly: Biweekly Pay = Rate × Hours/Week × 2
Salary: Biweekly Pay = Annual Salary ÷ 26

The hourly version doubles a standard workweek's pay to cover the two-week span. The salary version divides by 26 rather than 24, which is the detail that trips people up when they try to estimate a biweekly check by halving a "twice-monthly" number instead — those are two different pay schedules with different period counts.

Annual Equivalent multiplies the biweekly figure back out by 26, mostly as a sanity check against whatever salary or hourly-times-hours number you started from. Monthly Equivalent divides that annual figure by 12 for comparing against monthly bills, even though no biweekly paycheck actually lands on a monthly cadence.
