This Semester

Enter this semester's courses, and optionally your previous cumulative GPA, to calculate your new GPA.

How to Use the College GPA Calculator

This semester's courses go in as rows; the previous cumulative GPA field is optional — fill it in to blend this semester into a running total instead of seeing this semester alone.

Same credit-weighted math as any GPA calculation, but this one answers the question students actually ask partway through a degree: not just "what's my GPA this semester," but "what does this semester do to my overall GPA." Enter this term's courses, then optionally fold in a previous cumulative GPA and credit total — this College GPA Calculator combines the two into a new cumulative figure.

new cumulative GPA = (previous GPA × previous credits + semester points) ÷ (previous credits + semester credits)

That combination works because GPA points, not GPA itself, are what actually add up — multiplying your old GPA back out to total grade points, adding this semester's points, and dividing by the new total credit count is the only way to combine two averages correctly.
