How to Use the Concrete Footing Calculator

Add up the combined length of every footing run in the job (perimeter footings, interior pads, whatever applies), then enter the footing's width and depth in inches. Volume, bag counts, and cost recalculate as soon as any field changes.

cubic feet = footing length (ft) × (width (in) ÷ 12) × (depth (in) ÷ 12) × (1 + waste %)

Width and depth aren't things this tool can tell you — they come from soil bearing capacity, frost line, and the load the footing carries above it, all of which are engineering decisions, not geometry. A typical residential strip footing under a stud wall might run 16 in. wide by 8 in. deep, but that's a common starting point to check against your local code, not a rule this calculator enforces.
