How to Use the Concrete Weight Calculator
Length, width, and thickness set the volume, same as any slab. Density defaults to 150 lb/ft³ for ordinary concrete but is yours to change if you know your specific mix runs lighter or heavier. Weight appears in pounds, tons, and kilograms at once.
weight (lb) = length (ft) × width (ft) × (thickness (in) ÷ 12) × density (lb/ft³)
150 lb/ft³ is a reasonable midpoint for normal-weight concrete using ordinary stone or gravel aggregate. Lightweight structural concrete, made with expanded shale or clay aggregate, commonly runs 90–115 lb/ft³ instead — a meaningfully different number, not a rounding error, so don't leave the default in place if you know your mix is a lightweight one.
