Enter an hourly rate, hours per week, and weeks per year to calculate the equivalent annual salary.
How to Use the Hourly to Salary Calculator
Three fields — Hourly Rate, Hours per Week, Weeks per Year — are all this needs; every result recalculates the moment any of them changes.
Annual Salary = Hourly Rate × Hours per Week × Weeks per Year
52 weeks is the default, which assumes paid time off — a true 50-week working year (two weeks unpaid) produces a noticeably smaller annual figure for the same hourly rate, so it's worth adjusting if your actual pay doesn't include vacation pay.
Monthly, Biweekly, and Weekly are all just that annual number divided back down — by 12, by 26, and by whatever Weeks per Year is currently set to, respectively. Biweekly divides by a fixed 26 rather than half of Weeks per Year, since a biweekly paycheck always arrives 26 times in a standard year regardless of how many weeks you actually work.
A $20-an-hour job at 40 hours a week comes out to $41,600 a year at the default settings — a number that surprises people who round $20/hour to "about $40K" without accounting for the exact hours and weeks involved.
