How to Use the Kilovolt-Amps (kVA) to Watts Calculator
Apparent power in kVA and power factor are the two fields; the watt figure below them updates as either one changes, scaled a thousand times larger than the matching kVA-to-kW result.
W = kVA × 1000 × PF
1.2 kVA at a 0.75 power factor comes to 900 W — precisely the 0.9 kW the kVA to kW calculator would report for the same inputs, just written with the decimal point moved. Small appliance-scale loads are exactly where watts reads more naturally than a fraction of a kilowatt; nobody describes a space heater as "0.9 kW" on the box.
Since this is the same math as kVA to kW with an extra ×1000 tacked on, the same sanity check applies both places: watts can never exceed the kVA figure times 1000, because power factor tops out at 1.0. A result larger than that means the power factor got entered as a percentage (like 75) instead of a decimal (0.75) — an easy typo that inflates the answer by a hundredfold.
If the number on hand is already in kW rather than kVA, the more direct kW to Watts calculator skips the apparent-power step entirely.
