How to Use the Percentage Increase Calculator

"Find New Value" takes an original value and a percentage increase and returns what that value becomes. "Find Percentage" runs it backward — enter the original and new values, and it returns the percentage increase between them; if the second value is actually smaller, a note points to the Percentage Change or Percentage Decrease calculator instead, since this page is built around increases specifically.

Find New Value:  new value = original × (1 + percentage ÷ 100)
Find Percentage: percentage = ((new value − original value) ÷ original value) × 100

A 15% raise on a $50,000 salary works out to $57,500 — original times 1.15. Run the numbers the other direction, and $50,000 becoming $57,500 confirms back as a 15% increase, the same formula in reverse.
