Enter a total price and square footage to calculate price per square foot, or work the other way to find total price.
How to Use the Price Per Square Foot Calculator
Switch between "Find Price / SqFt" and "Find Total Price" with the toggle at the top. The first mode takes a total price and square footage and divides one by the other; the second takes a per-square-foot rate and square footage and multiplies them back out.
Price per square foot is the unit that makes properties of different sizes comparable at a glance — a 1,200 sq ft condo and a 3,500 sq ft house can't be compared on total price alone, but their per-foot rates sit on the same scale.
Price per SqFt = Total Price ÷ Square Footage
Total Price = Price per SqFt × Square Footage
A $350,000 property at 1,800 square feet works out to about $194.44 per square foot. Run that same 1,800 square feet against a target rate of $195/sqft in the other mode and the implied total price comes to $351,000.
It's a comparison tool, not a valuation one — layout, condition, lot size, and location all shift what a given square footage is actually worth, and none of that is visible in a single divided number.
