How to Use the Square Meters Calculator

Length and width in meters multiply into square meters, the standard area unit for flooring, tile, and paint quotes almost everywhere outside the US.

square meters = length × width
square feet = square meters ÷ 0.09290304

That divisor isn't a rounded approximation — it falls straight out of the exact 1 ft = 0.3048 m definition, squared. A room quoted at 20 m² by a European contractor and a US spec sheet listing "215 sq ft" for roughly the same space are describing the same floor, just through two different, both exact, unit systems.
