"Stone" is the broadest material category on this site's landscaping calculators, spanning pea gravel, crushed #57 stone, decorative fieldstone, and large rip rap — and the density spread across that range is enormous. Small crushed stone runs 90-105 lb/ft³; large rip rap boulders, being solid rock with almost no void space between pieces, can push past 150 lb/ft³. Guessing wrong here doesn't just shift the answer a little, it can be off by 50% or more.
